Kara O’Neal, PhD
Dr. Kara O’Neal holds BSc degrees in biology, biochemistry and psychology from Southern Arkansas University and a PhD in interdisciplinary biomedical sciences with an emphasis in microbiology and immunology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Her doctoral research focused on the host immune response during malaria. Currently, she’s a science writer for a contract research organization by day and an online adjunct instructor of biology at a PUI and freelance science writer by night. Microbiology and immunology are some of her favorite science topics. She also has a special interest in science communication and believes science should be available and accessible to everyone.
