Applications of ICP-MS

Applications of ICP-MS content piece image

Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) can be used for a broad range of applications. Like all MS techniques, it relies on ionization of the sample, followed by separation and detection of the sample fragments. However, one key difference is that ICP-MS uses an ionization method which does not rely on vacuum conditions. This allows for numerous operational advantages, including continuous sample monitoring and extremely high sensitivity.
