Advances in Proteomics
The term proteomics – used to describe the large-scale characterization of proteins – was coined in the 1990s by Mark Wilkins, who was a PhD student at the time. Since then, the field has gained momentum and can now be subdivided into various areas of study – from protein expression profiling and proteome mining to structural and functional proteomics and protein interactions.
