Regulatory T-Cells (Tregs) Within Bone Marrow-Derived Stem Cells (BMSCs) Actively Confer Immunomodulatory and Neuroprotective Effects Against Stroke
We found a distinct subpopulation of Tregs within BMSCs. Tregs and BMSCs in co-culture conferred neuroprotection that varied in a dose-dependent manner. Tregs minimized stem cell production of IL-6, a pro-inflammatory cytokine, and inhibited BMSC secretion of FGF-beta, a cytokine related to BMSC proliferation and differentiation. The ratio of Tregs found natively in BMSCs is optimally adapted to provide the maximum neuroprotective benefit of stem cell treatment after ischemic stroke.

Comparing The Anti-Alzheimer's Activity of Different Types of Coffee
This study found that coffee solutions treated at 5% are toxic to neurons. However, the toxicity reduced significantly at 2.5%. While the toxicity was significantly less allowing for more cells to survive at 2.5%, the levels of toxic amyloid beta 1-42 significantly reduced. This reduction in amyloid beta is associated with improvement in cognitive performance, as the presence of these toxic peptides is one of the characteristics of AD pathophysiology.

C1 Complement mediates human cord blood serum derived APP α-secretase cleavage activity in vitro
Our results indicate that CBS contains proteins that promote α-secretase like enzymatic activity. LC-MS/MS analysis in CBSF and AgBSF revealed the presence of 142 proteins of which C1 subunits and alpha-2-macroglobulin showed significantly greater levels in αCBSF compared with αAgBSF. further study showed,C1 subunits can enhance sAPPα production and Aβ reduction in cell culture condition

A Computational Model of Mood and Future Prospects
Mood disorders are characterized by changes in reaction to positive events, but studies examining mood in gambling have suggested these changes may not be different from control. Interrogating mood changes with a computational model may give insight into disorders like depression.

Designing a Model to Explore Tau's Unfolded Protein Response
The purpose of this research is to design a cell model in which ER stress caused by tau accumulation can be generated, and then investigated for changes in different ER stress-associated proteins.

Extracorporeal shockwave therapy accelerates motor axon regeneration despite a phenotypically mismatched environment
A femoral nerve defect model was adapted for the evaluation of proregenerative effects of extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT). Functional evaluation, histology and qRT-PCR data show differences between sensory and motor-derived nerve transplants and a pro-regenerative effect of ESWT. These data provide evidence for the clinical application of ESWT after autologous nerve transplantation as a novel non-invasive method.

Chronic administration of a new therapeutic agent improves memory in a mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease with tau deposition.
Abnormal tau hyperphosphorylation and accumulation into neuronal neurofibrillary tangles are linked to neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s disease. The aim of this study was to test the effects of a new therapeutic agent in a mouse model of tau deposition (Tg4510 mice). Mice treated with test agent-1 showed improvements in learning and memory compared to the control mice together with a reduction in tau oligomers in hippocampi homogenates.
